| Alternate Representative: A participant who may act on behalf of a member if the principal member is not present. | |
| D-Project: A domestic project that will result in a national standard (in contrast to an international standard). | |
| I-Project: An International project that involves working with international standards committees and will result in an international standard (in contrast to a national standard). | |
| INCITS: International Committee for Information Technology Standards | |
| Principal Representative: A participant who acts on behalf of a member. | |
| TAG: Technical Advisory Group. A US national committee that formulates and represents US national positions. Outside the US, the equivalent of a TAG is called (generically) a "national committee" or (in some national bodies) a "mirror committee". Typically, an INCITS TC has one or more TAG responsibilities. | |
| TC: Technical Committee. Technical committees (in contrast to the INCITS Executive Board) develop technical standards within INCITS. | |
| TG: Technical Group. A subcommittee of a Technical Committee. |
