INCITS/V36, a Technical Committee of INCITS, supports national and international level work on Information Technology for Learning, Education and Training. The Scope statement (V36 Terms of Reference) provides the details of the area of work. For newcomers to the standards process, this web site includes a summary of acronyms and standards terminology.
INCITS/V36 is the US TAG (Technical Advisory Group) to ISO/IEC JTC1 SC36 (see SC36 web site). The National Bodies comprise the membership of SC36. SC36 liaises with other organizations and is aware of related activities so that technical work is harmonized and participants' resources are used effectively. SC36's technical work is performed in Working Groups (WGs), Rapporteur Groups (WGs), and Ad Hoc (AHCs) committees (see SC36 Org Chart).
